My name is Cody Burden , since I was a young boy I have had a serious passion for everything fishing related.
Every day you can find me fishing or doing something related to the sport or community surrounding it.
I was introduced to fishing by family at a young age from docks and on boats. The passion exponentially grew from there into a life built around river fishing in southern Ontario.
Chasing everything from panfish to Ontario Great Lakes steelhead, I have learned many different styles of fishing including:
Each season here in southern Ontario has a different species of fish willing to bite. I have grinded through every type of weather, good and bad, determined to find out what it takes to get that bite.
Growing up, most kids look forward to cartoons in the morning on the weekend,.. I looked forward to the morning fishing shows and even got up early just to catch them.
I bought my first fly rod around the age of 12 and lucky for my brother and I there was a brook trout stream just a short bike ride away. As I got older and could travel more, I targeted everything I could with a fly rod like trout, Salmon, Steelhead, Bass, Pike, Carp, Crappie and many more.
I teach many different styles of fly fishing such as:
- Contact nymphing
- Dry fly/ Dry dropper
- Indicator nymphing
- Streamer fishing
- Even full moon mousing
Centrepin float fishing came to me later in my fishing career but was quickly just as much of a passion. Curing all my own baits and fine tuning my float fishing leader formula quickly made me a very successful angler.
Float fishing for chinook salmon can provide some of the most exciting action when done right. Chinooks are extremely aggressive once they first enter the rivers and will readily eat many baits.
Swinging for steelhead with a skagit set up is my personal favourite way to relax on the water. the adrenaline rush of a unsuspected tight line grab is exhilarating. Everything about it from tying the flies to casting is absolutely captivating.
I guide on the Nottawasaga River, Beaver River, Bighead River, Grand River, Credit River, Boyne River, Sydenham River, Pine River and many more.
My name is Emily , I have always had an incredible passion for the outdoors and all living creatures on this planet. I love exploring rivers and trails or going camping in the woods away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life. I am the one who works behind the scenes to make sure that everything is organized, Up to date and on time.
Fly fishing and ice fishing have become a very big part of my life and you could even say its become a "Lifestyle" . One of my favourite things in the world to do is throw big dry flies like hoppers and Stimi's for summer time trout, preferably Brook trout but all fish are beautiful in there own way.
Ice fishing for me is all about being together with family and friends out on a frozen lake somewhere trying to to harvest a few fish for some fish tacos. walleye is definitely a favourite for me when it comes to ice fishing .
Great lakes Steelhead and Chinooks are such a fantastic species of fish to have the opportunity to target. Chinooks are big brutes with a ton of power behind them, Steelhead have incredible speed bursts and aerial acrobatics. These two make for a fantastic fall and spring fishery. #Chromiesaremyhomies
I cannot believe just how amazing Georgian bay rivers really are. The variety of fish is pretty hard to come by in any other freshwater fishery. The brown trout here can be of world class size even reaching the 30 inch mark and they can be very abundant at the right time of year. I really hope that everyone at some point in there life can experience the beauty that Georgian bay rivers have to offer. Reel fresh fishing can connect you with the right guide to fit your fishing needs here in Southern Ontario.
